Lord Rama Names:names of God Ram, Baby Boy names from indian Hindu Mythology

Lord Rama(Ram) is the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the central figure of the Ramayana (Ramayan) epic. Rama is considered the Supreme Being, rather than an avatar. In Hinduism Rama is referred as Maryada Purushottama, literally the Perfect Man or Lord of Self-Control or Lord of Virtue.

Ram took birth to free the earth from the cruelty and sins of the demon Ravana.

Rama - 'Ra' in sanskrit is the seed of fire (agni). 'Ma' is for 'manah' (mind). So RAMA means a completely purified mind that has been burnt through deep meditation. So 'Rama' is an absolutely, clean, clear and pure mind that has become one with the Soul. Lord Rama has been portrayed in myriad ways as the embodiment of all the virtues of the world, and having all the qualities that an ideal avatar can possess. He is the first letter and the last word in righteous living, and is known by a multitude of names - that reflect the many facets of his luminous persona.

Ram was born as the first son of Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya. Ram's mother was Kausilya. Ram had three brothers : Bharata (Bharat) born from the second wife Kaikeyi, and Lakshmana (Lakshman) and Shatrughna born from the third wife Sumitra. Lord Rama married to Goddess Sita and went to exile for fourteen years to fulfil the promise given to his father.
